Obituary

Thomas William Smithgall, 79, of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 17, 2023 in Lock Haven.

Tom was born in Philadelphia to Lynwood and Kathleen Smithgall on September 11, 1943. He went to high school at Lock Haven High School and graduated in 1961. Tom Joined the US Navy in 1962. After leaving the Navy he worked for Hammermill Paper company for many years before moving to Jacksonville, Fl in 1981. Like his father, Tom was a volunteer fireman and served both the Dunnstown fire department and Dinsmore, Fl. fire department. In the late 1980’s he moved back to Lock Haven to care for his father after the passing of his mother.

He is survived by his three sons. Michael, of San Diego, Ca. Stephen of Callahan, Fl. and Alan, of Callahan, Fl. He leaves behind seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Lynwood and Kathleen Smithgall.

Tom will be buried next to his parents in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
