Sonia Rae Myers

Sonia Rae Myers, 88, of Milesburg, PA, passed away on September 18, 2023 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home.

Sonia was born in Lock Haven, PA to Ray and Helen Callahan on May 3, 1935. She went to high school at Lock Haven and graduated in 1943. She went on to earn a degree from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. She taught Dental Assistance at the Centre County Vocational Technical School for many years, and also was the Dental Hygienist (“The Tooth Fairy”) for Bald Eagle School District.  She and her husband Jack were faithful supporters of all Bald Eagle Area sporting events, and she was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on many committees.  

Sonia is survived by her son, Robert (Elizabeth Gruber) Myers of Lock Haven; her son, Jack Myers of Bellefonte, PA; her grandson, Dylan Myers of Phillipsburg, PA; her grandson William Myers of Altoona, PA; and her grandson, Michael Myers of Fort Collins, CO.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack.

Funeral services will be private with Reverend Carl Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Dunnstown Cemetery. Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven will be handling the funeral arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Eagle Valley Personal Care Home.
