Shirley Reeder Obituary

Shirley J. Reeder, 85, 1199 N. Hillview St. Lock Haven, PA, died Friday June 20, 2025 at her home.  She was born February 2, 1940 in Mill Hall, PA, a daughter of the late George and Thelma (Smith) Young. On July 9, 1956 in the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven she married the love of her life, Donald E. Reeder, who preceded her in death.

Shirley worked many jobs from a young age but being a wife and mother were the two she cherished most. She and Don owned their own farm in Lamar Twp. from March 1965 until 1976. She drove a school bus for many years. She also worked at Bi-Lo grocery store. She loved working in the lawn and garden section of Lowes only giving it up in April of this year.  She was a member of B.P.O.E. #182 and the Sons of Italy, both of Lock Haven.

Surviving are 2 sons: Edward (Leslie) Reeder, Mill Hall and Donald (Cheryl) Reeder, Jr., Dunnstown, 1 daughter: Robin (Bradley) Butler, CO, as well as 2 sisters: Lillian Masseo, FL; Connie Neidrich, Lock Haven. She had 1 brother, Theodore who preceded her in death. Shirley was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Memorial Service at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S Hanna St, Lock Haven, PA 17745 or any veteran’s organization.
