Robert E Garlin

Robert E. Garlin, 81, of Lock Haven, Pa., passed away on April 27, 2026, at home.

He was born to parents Ralph and Mildred (Plank) Garlin on July 16, 1944 in Elliotsburg, Pa.

He attended High School in Perry County and graduated in 1963. Robert went on to WACC where he earned a two year degree in Welding and Diesel Repair in 1966. He worked for Peterman Power Equipment for over 21 years, was a Fire Police Captain in Lake Mead, East Berlin Pa., and worked at Karns Grocery Store for more than 16 years. He was currently employed by the Weis Grocery Store in Jersey Shore Pa., where enjoyed working and talking with customers. He was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church in Dillsburg. Pa.

 He was the widower of Valena (Sheaffer) Garlin who passed away on October 7, 2015. Robert is survived by his nephews Jeffrey Sheaffer and Raymond Starr, with whom he resided with for more than 11 years. He is also survived by his nieces Rochelle (Jerry) Brandt, Eileen (Travis) Reyan, Stacy (Michael) Elicker, and many great nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC.,121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, Pa 17745. A memorial service for Robert E. Garlin will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dillsburg Brethren in Christ Church, 18 E. Harrisburg St., Dillsburg Pa., 17019. Family and friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
