Robert Frankenburger II Obituary

Robert S. Frankenburger II, 77, of North Bend, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Born September 8, 1948, in Waynesburg, PA, Bob was the son of Robert S. Frankenburger I and Mildred (Freeman) Kenworthy. Bob graduated from Bucktail High School in 1966 and earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Lock Haven University in 1989.

Bob served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4, working as a Slovene translator for the Army Security Agency. After his military service, he worked as a welder at Berwick Forge and Fabricating, Chem Con, and ACI, until those shops closed. He then pursued a career in journalism, ultimately becoming editor of The Renovo Record, where he shared his photography and writing talents with the community.

An active participant in youth programs, Bob dedicated his time to the Boy Scouts and coached girls’ softball. He especially treasured moments spent with his children and grandson.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary H. (Stuart) Frankenburger; his son, Robert F. Frankenburger of North Bend; his daughter, Annette Frankenburger of Lock Haven; his sister, Jeanne (Robert) Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC; and his grandson, Colin M. Frankenburger of Lock Haven. He is also survived by his aunt, Anne Nicklas of Glenshaw, PA and three sisters in law, Tina Frankenburger, Debbie Frankenburger and Kathy Werts along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, Art Kenworthy, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Frankenburger and Scott Frankenburger.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
