Richard Wenker Obituary

Richard L. Wenker, 82, Mill Hall, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior, March 1, 2025, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was born in Lock Haven on November 27, 1942, to the late Clair and Mary Jane Stevenson Wenker.

Richard was united in marriage on April 24, 1965, to Judith Bradney Wenker, who survives.  They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. 

He was a 1960 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and had served with the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He had been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lock Haven and had been a member of the local carpenters union, retiring in 2005. Richard had also worked at Piper Aircraft for several years and was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion. 

 He enjoyed country line dancing, hunting, spending time at his camp, woodworking and carpentry work. He loved family get togethers and cherished his grandchildren. 

Surviving in addition to his wife Judith is a son, David L. (Michele) Wenker of Mill Hall, a daughter, Heidi Martin of Bellefonte, five grandchildren, Brandon & Addison Wenker, Brady, (Grace) , Hope  & Shayna Martin, a sister, Donna Walker of Jersey Shore, nephew Steve Walker , and niece Jenny Walker.

Funeral services for Richard L. Wenker will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Gedon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC, 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven, PA. 

Officiating will be Pastor Doug Packard of the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Thursday morning one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Swissdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions will be accepted to the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven, 210 North Vesper Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
