Mary Louise (Aukerman) Snavely

Mary Louise Snavely, 96, formerly of 2788 Narrows Road, Loganton, PA passed away October 7, 2022 at the Susque-View Home, Lock Haven,  PA. Born in Bellefonte, PA  October 30, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Hilda M. Beewak Aukerman. She graduated from Gregg Twp. Vocational School in Spring Mills.

On December 2, 1943 she married Walter A. Snavely who died March 13, 2007. Most of her life she was a stay-at-home Mom. Mary was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Tylersville, PA where she filled different positions through the years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-gra ndmother.  She enjoyed painting pictures, sewing, watching baseball, bird watching, working in her flower garden, singing and listening to music, playing her guitar, camping, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include:

        3 daughters; Eloise (Bob) Douty, Loganton, PA; Cindy (Charles) Kerstetter , Tylersville,PA and

                             Kathy (Kenny) Gephart, Rebersburg, PA

        1 Brother: Larry (Cathy) Aukerman, Centre Hall, PA

        1 Granddaughter: Heather (Greg) Edelman, Northhampton, PA

        4 Grandsons: Brian (Anna) Douty, Tylersville,PA , Michael Miller, Birdsboro, PA, Scott (Carrie)

                                 Miller, Pittsford, NY and Brett (Lindsay) Gephart, Rebersburg, PA

        4 Great-granddaughters: Lilly Gephart, Audrey, Elsie, and Sadie Miller,    

        4 Great -grandsons: Jonas Edelman, Issac and Jameson Miller and Bryce Gephart

She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Carol E. Miller, 2 brothers Ronald and Gary Aukerman  

Before entering Susque-View she had 4 feline companions: Toby, Sophie, Goldberg and Abbey     

A funeral service honoring the life of Mary Louise Auckerman Snavley will be held Friday October 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tylersville, PA with her pastor, Blake Gulley officiating. Interment Tylersville Community Cemetery, Tylersviile PA.

Friends will be received in the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service.

Mary’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all of the staff at Susque-View that helped in her care, showed her great compassion and treated her more like family than a patient. We will always also be grateful for all these people who helped us with the ins and outs of nursing home living and would answer any questions.
