Marie L. (Yarnell) Koch, age 87, of Mill Hall, (Clintondale), passed away on Wednesday, August 23rd 2023 at Heartland Retirement & Personal Care Home in Woolrich where she resided the past 4 months. She was married for 39 years to the late Theodore C. Koch, who preceded her in death on March 26th of 2017. Marie was born January 27th 1936 in Mill Hall. She was the last surviving child of the late George and Mildred (Harnish) Yarnell. She was a graduate of the old Mill Hall High School. In her younger years, she had worked for the Crissman Meat Packing Plant in Castanea. She was a doting housekeeper and loved her cherished pet Shih Tzus and the many birds she would feed year-round. For many years, Marie and her late husband were members of the Clinton County 4x4 Search & Rescue and were recognized members of the Clinton County Early Warning Flood Committee where they recorded stream gauge readings on the headwaters of Big Fishing Creek that was shared with the county during flood events. Marie is survived by one niece, Nadine L. Price, (Jerry), of Maineville, OH and two nephews, Michael T. Vuccola of New Castle, DE and Craig Vuccola, (Karen) of Hamilton, OH. In following Marie’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at the convenance of the family and will be announced through the Gedon Funeral Home in Mill Hall. A memorial donation may be made to the Clinton County SPCA or the Audubon Society of North America. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Tara Pearce of Mill Hall, who took care of Marie for many years before dementia forced 24hr care. Tara treated and cared for Marie with all the love and devotion anyone could ever ask of a person.
