Lola B Sweitzer, age 96, of Barton Street, Lock Haven, PA passed away, December 22,2023 at her daughter’s home in Lock Haven.
She was born in Lock Haven, December 12, 1927, to the late E.J. and Francis Glossner Bartholomew. Lola was married to Nevin J. Sweitzer on December 27, 1948, who preceded her in death in 2016.
She was a graduate of the former Lock Haven High School and an active member of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ. In her younger years she had worked at the Sweet Shop in Mill Hall and had been a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: two daughters, Darla (Donald) Bowes of Lock Haven and Leslie(Harvey)Hess of Cape Coral, FL. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joan Marie Sweitzer, 3 brothers, Harold, Lawrence(Bud) and Melvin(Midge) Bartholomew and 5 sisters, Genevieve Myers, Estella Probst, Martha Wert, Marie Leonard and Marian Rishel.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Gedon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC, 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven, PA with Pastor Matthew Kinley of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of services. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, 330 North Vesper Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
