Florence J Beal

Florence J. “Missy” Beal, 94, went home to be with the Lord Jesus and all her past relatives and friends on Saturday, December 28th, 2024.

Missy spent the last nine plus years of her life with superb care at Haven Place nursing home. Missy was born on April 13, 1930 in Lock Haven to the late Harvey and Florence (Walker) Waterman. Missy was married 54 years to the late Benjamin H. Beal Jr. who passed away in 2005. She was a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church and was a homemaker but also babysat children in her home from the late 1960’s to the early 1990’s. In those thirty some years she babysat 75 plus children.

 Missy is survived by 3 children, Benjamin H. (Patricia) Beal Duboistown, John L. (Vicki) Beal, Rote and Teri B. Beal, Avis. Missy also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Bobbie Jean Miller, a brother Robert Waterman and a sister E. Lorraine Paules.

Funeral services for Florence J. Beal will be held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11am in the Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC. 121 West Main St. Lock Haven, Pa. Friends and family will be received in the funeral home 1 hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Hocker of the Swissdale United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Missy’s name to the Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974  East Croak Hollow Rd. Lock Haven, Pa 17745.
