Dorothy Royer Nestlerode

Dorothy Royer Nestlerode, 93, of Castanea passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in the Lock Haven Hospital.  She was born in Flemington on May 12, 1929, to Robert R. and Ada Simcox Royer. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Lock Haven High School and had been employed at the First National Bank, she worked in the Purchasing Department at Piper Aircraft for 17 years. She also had worked at Champion Parts in Lock Haven and retired from the Beech Creek plant in 1994.  Dorothy had also been a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church. 

Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold R. Nestlerode on May 10, 1947, he preceded her in death on March 13, 2003. 

Survivors include two sons: Wayne (Christine) Nestlerode and Robert (Karen) Nestlerode, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Best and a daughter in law, Karen (Andrus) Nestlerode. 

Private memorial services for Dorothy Nestlerode will be held in the Dunnstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Dorothy’s name to Ross Library 232 W. Main St. Lock Haven.
