Donald J Toner, Sr

Donald J. Toner, Sr., 93, of Lock Haven, passed away at Haven Place Rehabilitation and Senior Living on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

He was born on May 3, 1932, in Salona, to Lester J. and Laurabelle (King) Toner.

On June 13, 1968, he married Donna J. (Jones) Toner who preceded him in death on February 10, 2023.

Donald worked at various places throughout the years including Piper, Bobbie Brooks, Susquehanna Transit, and owning his own business, Toner’s Plumbing and Heating. Donald had a love for all things antique cars, with his favorite being his 1950 Chevrolet panel truck. You could always count on Don to tell you all of his stories and have you, and him, belly laughing by the end. Don loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything in this world. He shared a very special bond with his great-granddaughter, Hazel. 

Survivors include four sons, John (Freida) Toner, of Lock Haven, William (Cindy) Toner, of Rote, Donald (Terry) Toner, of Philadelphia, and Boyd (Kim) Toner, of Salladasburg; two daughters, Darcy J. (Willis) Swinehart and Judy Carothers, of Lock Haven; a sister, Diana Toner, of Mackeyville; five granddaughters, Brooke (Hunter) Stover, of Lock Haven, Tiffany Toner, of Salladasburg, Christy (Matt) Fisher, of Mill Hall, Beth (Caleb) Bollman,, of Montana, Ashley (Josh) Blesh of Pittsburgh; four grandsons, Luke Swinehart, Tanner (Tessa) Swinehart, Mike Toner, of Lock Haven, Boyd (Lauren) Toner, Jr., of Salladasburg; and numerous great-grandchildren. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lester J. and Laurabelle (Larkey) Toner; a sister, Kathleen (Sis) Lamey; a brother. Nevin Toner; a great-grandson, Devin Stacey; and a daughter-in-law, Freida Ruggers-Toner.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.  In keeping with Donald's wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to extend gratitude to his caregivers over the years.
