On the morning of October 10, 2023, DIANE LABANT of Dayton Oregon, entered the gates of heaven with her family by her side at Bucktail Medical Center in Renovo Pa. Diane was born November 22, 1967, the daughter of Helen and the late George Labant of Cross Fork.
She was a graduate of Bucktail Area High School with the class of 1985 and from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During her college years, she spent a semester in England. After graduation Diane moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and later to Oregon where she pursued her career by establishing the Labant Nationwide Insurance Company, then moving on to SERVPRO in home restoration until she found her dream job in Real Estate.
Our family was not expecting for Diane’s life to be cut short so soon. She was born with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold and a big smile for everyone she met. She cared deeply for the people around her. She was so kind and passionate and made an impact on many lives.
Her most loved passion besides her family was horses. She was an excellent horse woman and competed in many competitions. You could always find her at all the Rodeos and other horse related events. A friend once said of her, “It is the way you ride the trail that matters” and Diane rode that trail with an incredible heart and soul. She and her daughter spent many hours trail riding, barrel racing, and jumping just to name a few.
Her other passion was “Honor Flight”, a non profit organization and special opportunity for any veteran that served in the military during time of war or peace time to be honored with a free trip to Washington D.C.. Diane was a strong advocate for all veterans and very instrumental in organizing such trips.
She was predeceased by her father and In addition to her mother, she is survived by her best friend and brother, Dan (Julie), Labant of Utah, the loves of her life daughter Lauren Rachel (Jared ) Blake of Oregon and granddaughter Braelynn.. She is also survived by Stepson Brian (Crystal) Lee of Utah, Step grandsons, Jamison Blake of Oregon, Dante and Allrich Lee of Utah.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at the convenience of the family in Oregon where she left her loved ones and friends.
Diane’s journey is just beginning, and she is now riding the trails that she loved. “Ride on cowgirl.” We all love and miss you.
