2\15\22 – A note from Granddaughter Stephanie
Last night, I held my grandmother’s hand as she took her last breath. She lived to be 96 ½. She was a woman who was unapologetically herself. She knew what she wanted, and she went after it. She dropped out of school when she was 16 because she met the love of her life and got married. She lived through the Great Depression and her husband fighting in the Pacific during WWII. She started and ran a successful pool business. She was a matriarch who fiercely loved her family. She was a lover of Frosties from Wendy’s and speaking her mind. She was feisty and strong. She was stubborn enough to know that 30 years was too long to spend another Valentine’s Day without her Wally. Thank you Mamee for everything. I love you so much. I hope your Valentine’s Day date was worth the wait!
