Amelia D. Aber, 76, of South Renovo, passed away June 28th,2026, in her home surrounded by her family.
Born October 10th,1949 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Emerald and Mary (Woomer) Bechdel. She attended Lock Haven High School and graduated in 1968. She worked for Susquehanna Transit driving school buses for 40 years and was very passionate about the relationships she made while driving. She enjoyed arts and crafts with her niece Mary Kennis, especially making gifts for her family and friends. She was a member of the Christian Community Church in South Renovo. Amelia spent her life filling her home with love and laughter while bringing her family together. Her selfless spirit led her to a lifetime of caring for everyone in her life.
Amelia is survived by her children, Robert James Jr, Heather James, Harry James and stepdaughter Kristi Strope. She is also survived by her sisters Dolores Myers, Relda Laubscher, Roberta Moore, Martha McClosky and brother Emerald (Bud) Bechdel, her grandchildren Tristan, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Robert, Abigail, Clair, 6 great grandchildren, 5 step children and 12 step grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both of her husbands Richard E. Aber and Robert D. James. She is also preceded in death by her sister Emaline Leitch and Jane Briggs.
Memorial services will be held at the Christian Community Church in South Renovo on July 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Colvin officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the Christian Community Church in South Renovo (364 Susquehanna Avenue, Renovo, PA).
