Alice E. Sterrett

Alice E. Sterrett, 94, of Mill Hall  passed away January 17, 2023 at the Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg, PA.   She was born in Lock Haven on July 22, 1928 to Theodore E. and Ethel B. Strouse Reeder.

Alice was a 1946 graduate of the Mill Hall High School.  On January 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert S. “Red” Sterrett, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 24, 2020.   She had been employed at the Office of the Aging, retiring in 1981.  She had been a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with her husband and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Bald Eagle Ridge Runner Campground in Beech Creek.  

Survivors include a son; Thomas R. Sterrett, two daughters; Ruth Ann (Calvin/Chip) Witmer and Elaine K. (Clifford Wolfe) Sterrett,  three grandchildren: Steven (Jacqueline) Rayhorn, Brett Witmer, and Jordan (Zack) Davis, four great grandchildren; David, Samuel, and Elsa Witmer and Reese Davis; brothers Theodore (Dolly) Reeder, Allen “Love” (Connie) Reeder, Wayne Reeder, and a sister Janet (Philip) Miller. Two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Reeder and Shirley Reeder and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Donald Reeder, John Robert Reeder, and her sister Charlotte L. Cattoni.  The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Eagle Valley Personal Care Facility and the Hospice 365 for the exemplary care and comfort provided for their beloved mother, grandmother & great grandmother.

Funeral services for Alice E. Sterrett will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 320 Main St., MILL HALL.   Friends and family will be received in the funeral home from  9:00 am  until time of services.   Officiating will be Pastor Casey Redmon. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Tri-County Church, Northcentral Campus, 205 Main St., Mill Hall, PA 17751 or the Mill Hall Volunteer Fire Company, 9 Peale Avenue, Mill Hall, PA 17751.  Services are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 320 Main St., MILL HALL, PA.
